Join us in San Diego for the 13th Annual TBLC Conference

We invite you to the 13th Annual Conference on Team-Based Learning, which will be held February 28 to March 2, 2013 in San Diego, California, with pre-meeting workshops on February 28, 2013.

The Team-Based Learning Collaborative (TBLC) is a group of educators dedicated to supporting faculty from a variety of disciplines that have implemented, or wish to implement, Team-Based Learning.  Our recent conferences have included educators from a range of backgrounds, including medical education, other health-related disciplines, business and social science disciplines, graduate and undergraduate education, professional schools, and K-12 education.  We have benefited from everyone’s experience and wisdom as we strive to share teaching resources, mentor one another, and promote the dissemination, evaluation, and scholarship of team-based learning.

The Annual Conference presentations take the form of plenary presentations, workshops, oral presentations, and posters.  For those who are new to Team-Based Learning, consider sessions under the Fundamentals Track, where you will learn the essential skills to start and improve a Team-Based Learning program at your own institution.  Share your initial experiences with peers and develop mentoring relationships with experienced TBL practitioners.  Participating in sessions under the Fundamentals Track, alongside practitioners experiencing challenges and successes like your own, will help you to perfect your skills in developing and managing TBL activities.

For those of you who have gained some expertise in Team-Based Learning, the Conference will provide opportunities for continuing to grow as a TBL practitioner, for networking and collaborating with peers, and for mentoring/ learning to mentor individuals new to TBL.  We have two exciting tracks to help you expand and improve your Team-Based Learning classes. The Innovations Track will focus on novel and creative ways to advance your Team-Based Learning skills. In the Research/Scholarship Track educators will present methods related to educational research or research studies about Team-Based Learning.

Finally, don’t fret if you can’t be in two places at once and you miss one of the concurrent workshops.  At the close of the Conference, proceedings will be made available to all participants and popular workshops may be offered more than once.
